چکیده
The non-linearities in waveand slamming-induced rigid-body motions and structural responses of ships such as heave, pitch and vertical bending moments are consistently investigated based on a rational timedomain strip method (Xia, Wang and Jensen, 1998). A hydrodynamic model for predicting sectional green water force is also outlined for the investigation of the effect of green water loads on the global hull girder bending moment. The computational results based on the non-linear time-domain strip theory are compared with those based on the fully non-linear 3-D panel method SWAN-DNV and other published results. From the rather extensive computations and comparisons, it is found that non-linear effects are significant in head and bow waves in the motion-wave resonant region for both heave and pitch motions, bow accelerations and vertical bending moments for two container ships considered, whereas not significant for a VLCC. The non-linearities in motions and structural loads of conventional monohull ships seem well predicted by the present non-linear strip theory.

Bayesian Two-Sample Prediction with Progressively Type-II Censored Data for Some Lifetime Models
Prediction on the basis of censored data is very important topic in many fields including medical and engineering sciences. In this paper, based on progressive Type-II right censoring scheme, we will discuss Bayesian two-sample prediction. A general form for lifetime model including some well known and useful models such asWeibull and Pareto is considered for obtaining prediction bounds ...
متن کاملOptimal Non-Parametric Prediction Intervals for Order Statistics with Random Sample Size
In many experiments, such as biology and quality control problems, sample size cannot always be considered as a constant value. Therefore, the problem of predicting future data when the sample size is an integer-valued random variable can be an important issue. This paper describes the prediction problem of future order statistics based on upper and lower records. Two different cases for the ...
متن کاملBayesian Prediction of future observation based on doubly censored data under exponential distribution
In many experiments about lifetime examination, we will faced on restrictions of time and sample size, which this factors cause that the researcher can’t access to all of data. Therefore, it is valuable to study prediction of unobserved values based on information of available data. in this paper we have studied the prediction of unobserved values in two status of one-sample and two-sample, whe...

Method: The type of study is quasi-experimental based on the pretest-posttest design. The study population consisted of all married women aged 30-45 years who had a marit...
متن کاملThe Effects of Forming Parameters on the Single Point Incremental Forming of 1050 Aluminum Alloy Sheet
The single point incremental forming (SPIF) is one of the dieless forming processes which is widely used in the sheet metal forming. The correct selection of the SPIF parameters influences the formability and quality of the product. In the present study, the Gurson-Tvergaard Needleman (GTN) damage model was used for the fracture prediction in the numerical simulation of the SPIF process of alum...
